About
Clear advice, quick decisions and recommendations people can actually act on.
Dr James Stanley is a UK General Practitioner who has worked in clinical medicine since graduating from the University of Nottingham in 2012. He completed his GP training in Gloucestershire, gaining MRCGP in 2017, and joined a rural practice as a GP partner straight after qualifying.
Since then he has worked across partnership, salaried partner and private roles in NHS and independent general practice, serving as child safeguarding lead in 2 practices and co-leading one practice's COVID-19 response. That breadth gave him a practical understanding of how health conditions affect people at work, which now underpins his occupational health practice at HealthBridge.
He has also built ventures outside the NHS, including an aesthetics clinic and private GP work, and has a strong interest in how AI and digital tools can help clinicians work more safely and efficiently. He has led teaching on AI in primary care for his former partnership.
Outside medicine, James writes about markets as Scalpel to Stocks and runs his own long-term portfolio in public. Away from work he lifts weights and trains in karate and Krav Maga. He was the first in his family to go to university, and lives in Gloucester with his wife and their 3 children.
